ÓÐINSAUGA (pronounced "OH-thins-OW-ga") is Old Norse for "Odin's Eye." In Norse mythology, Odin sacrificed one of his eyes at Mímir's well in exchange for wisdom, trading his sight for insight. That exchange is the foundation of this work: to see beyond the evident and convey what it means to be there. The essence is people in places and moments that are once, and will never be quite the same again.

ÓÐINSAUGA — Old Norse, "Odin's Eye"

Óðins (genitive of Óðinn) + auga (eye)

Pronunciation: "OH-thins-OW-ga"

The Work

ÓÐINSAUGA is the work of a single photographer based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The work spans several subjects:

Live music photography — From intimate bar shows to full stages, performers in the middle of a song they'll never play quite the same way again.

Street photography — People moving through cities and neighborhoods. The ordinary moments that become specific and unrepeatable in retrospect.

Architecture and place — Buildings, alleys, murals, light falling on old walls. The spaces people move through without looking up.
