Why No Histogram

The histogram is based on the embedded JPEG preview, not the RAW data. It lies about your actual dynamic range.

A histogram screaming "underexposed" might show exactly what you wanted—a dark room with points of light. The RAW has stops of headroom the histogram doesn't show. Trust your eye. Use blinkies (highlight warning) to see actual clipping.

"Histograms are not eyes. Histograms aren't going to look at your compositions, eyes will."

Playback

Setting Value Rationale
Highlights (blinkies) Enabled Shows blown areas on review

Cycle display modes during playback to see blinkies view.

Setting Value Rationale
Time zone and date Kentucky, EST DST is manual—on in March, off in November
Distance units Feet Think in feet, display in feet

Card Slot Configuration

Note: The grayed-out WR menu is for radio remotes (WR-R10/R11), not Bluetooth.

Focus Peaking

When using manual focus, shows what's sharp in the viewfinder. Red or white highlight, medium sensitivity.

Review Time

Consider short duration (2-4 sec) or off. Chimping breaks flow and drains battery.
